Tinatin Khuluzauri is a Georgian volunteer who joined Solidarites Jeunesses, in France and carries out her short-term European Solidarity Corps project funded by Erasmus +. Read what she says about her experience:

“This was the first volunteering program for me and it turned out to be a very valuable experience. My main duty was to supervise the activities of the teenagers participating in the work camp.

The biggest challenge and experience was interacting with these young people. The project taught me how to be both a friend and a supervisor to them, how to find the golden mean of being the friend they turn to for help, and at the same time making my words meaningful to them. We often had discussions, I am amazed by their open-mindedness and free thinking. I believe that participation in such projects helps them to form and develop their thinking correctly.

I think such an international environment showed me how important it is to be ready for innovations and how much it means to exchange different values.

In addition to all this, I got to know myself better during this period. Being in a foreign environment is quite difficult and stressful, but my new friends made it easier for me and made this month an exciting, adventurous experience”.
