Youth Exchange
What is a Youth Exchange? | Youth exchanges allow groups of young people from different countries to meet, live together and work on shared projects for short periods. |
What kind of activities are made during the Youth Exchange? | On a youth exchange, you can expect to participate in activities such as workshops, exercises, debates, role-plays, outdoor activities and more. |
Who can participate? | Young people aged 18-30 (group leaders have no upper age limit). |
Do I need to be a student to participate? | It is not necessary to be a student. |
Do I need to be a member of BITISI to participate in a Youth Exchange? | No. |
Which costs are covered? | Normally the project covers traveling expenses, accommodation, food and activity materials. Participants purchase their travel tickets, keep its receipts and invoices and they get their money reimbursed once the project is finished. |
How can I participate? | We publish open calls on our Facebook page. Follow us and be informed. |
Do I need to be fluent in English? | No. B1 level of English is enough. |
Which knowledge and Skills do I need to have? | There is nothing pre-defined. Every project is unique and has its own selection criteria. Some things are for sure – you need to be active; respect solidarity and equality. |
In which countries can a project be organized? | Mostly in the EU; but also in some partner countries like Eastern partnership Counties or South Mediterranean countries. |
How many times can I participate in an Youth Exchange? | There is no limit. |
Will I get any Certificate if I participate in a Youth Exchange? | Participants’ learning experiences are recognised through a Youthpass. |
