”Leave your comfort zone, embrace new cultures, and grow beyond borders!” • Sirunik Avetisyan

Sirunik Avetisyan is a Georgian volunteer who joined Way of Thracians Foundation, in Bulgaria and carried out her long-term European Solidarity Corps project funded by Erasmus +. Read what she says about her experience:

“I had the opportunity to participate in a life-changing experience through the European Solidarity Corps in Bulgaria, where I created countless memories that will last forever. I formed strong friendships with people from around the world, and we quickly became like family. This experience gave me invaluable skills in various fields, crucial for my personal and professional growth, and expanded my network significantly.

Working at a youth center allowed me to develop my teaching skills and improve my interactions with children. On the other hand, my time at the museum offered me a deep understanding of the history of Bulgaria and Romania, while also enhancing my guiding, problem-solving, and communication abilities with diverse groups. I also had the chance to participate in archaeological expeditions and visit local museums, which deepened my knowledge of Bulgarian culture and history.

One of the highlights was sharing Georgian culture and traditions with my fellow volunteers and the local community, allowing them to gain a better understanding of Georgia and its rich heritage. This experience not only enriched me culturally but also allowed me to contribute to the cultural exchange”.
