Bottom Line
Discrimination remains a pervasive challenge in contemporary society, affecting various communities and perpetuating social divisions. Across the globe, young people face discrimination based on factors such as race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status. This discrimination not only undermines individual well-being but also hinders social cohesion and economic progress. “Walls Down, Art Up!” aims to address the pressing issue of discrimination through the transformative power of art and intercultural dialogue. Grounded in youth work practice, this project seeks to empower young individuals to combat discrimination, foster intercultural understanding, and promote social inclusion through creative expression and collaboration.

Project Objectives
— To raise awareness about discrimination and its various forms, including racial, gender-based, religious, and socioeconomic discrimination.
— To empower youth with the knowledge and skills to use art as a tool for advocating against discrimination and promoting social inclusion.
— To foster intercultural understanding and appreciation by facilitating dialogue and collaboration among participants from diverse backgrounds.
— To create art that conveys messages of unity, inclusivity, and anti-discrimination, serving as powerful tools for awareness-raising and advocacy.
— To promote personal growth and solidarity among participants, nurturing a sense of empathy, resilience, and community.

In the end, participants received YouthPass certificates that confirm their participation and the skills they gained during the project.
