”Volunteering for me is a completely other level of support and human interactions.” • Mariam Devadze

Greetings, I’m Mariami, a 22-year-old Georgian girl. I had aspirations for the future when I graduated the University in Georgia, at the time, I hadn’t even considered leaving the country . I found out about this project from friends, and one day one of them simply posted the application on social media, telling us that it was a great project that should be filled out because it had significantly improved their lives. Without giving it much thought, I simply filled it out and sent it. After completing the application, I considered the significant and life-altering decisions that this choice would bring about. I realized that I would become a It occurred with a completely different person.

For me, the first reason for leaving was to go out of my comfort zone, as I was too accustomed to my surroundings and had not tried anything new, and the second was to gain the experience that my career requires.

I chose to go to Poland for this project because my friends, and not just them, highly praised both the organisation and the country in general. From the moment I arrived, I knew I’d made the correct decision, everything was better than I could have imagined, and I met people who will be in my existence forever. Poland is a captivating and organized country.

My heart was filled with love from the moment I saw the children, every day I witnessed how lovely, sweet, and brilliant they were, and the teachers were always trying to make me comfortable.

Volunteering for me is a completely other level of support and human interactions. I have never had such a thrilling experience before, because it is challenging to move to a strange country, interact with foreign people, and have a relationship with children, it is a tremendous responsibility.

I can certainly state that, despite many obstacles, this project changed my life for the better. I gained confidence, learned a lot, acquired experience, and grew. If you ask me, going to Poland was the most worthwhile decision I ever made, and I’m delighted I was able to experience every circumstance.
