“When I first set out for Estonia, I expected it to be just another ESC volunteering experience. What unfolded instead, was a 10-month journey of deep involvement in global environmental campaigns, real responsibility, professional and personal growth.

Volunteering at the headquarters of “Let’s Do It World”, the NGO behind the biggest civic movement in human history, World Cleanup Day, as well as “Digital Cleanup Day”, meant stepping into a vast international action. I found myself supporting a global network of 164 countries, helping lead digital campaigns, coordinating communication with leaders worldwide – especially during the WCD Call and Media Center, updating websites and paperwork, co-leading marketing meetings, designing visuals, analyzing data, interviewing youngsters as well as professionals, and publishing stories from around the world.

There were challenges – tight deadlines, a fast-paced office environment, and unexpected responsibilities – but they came with rewards. I learned to navigate complex tasks, stay resilient under pressure, and contribute meaningfully to something bigger than myself.

Outside the office, Estonia surprised me. I did a lot of self-reflection during ESC trainings, spending the days outside exploring Estonian woods and spending cozy evenings inside Estonian cottage house. I also traveled internationally, discovering Baltic and Nordic calmness, museum corners, and unforgettable people. I cooked my own meals (a milestone!), explored new cities, found joy in quiet adventures and cultural encounters.

This experience helped me grow both professionally and personally. And now, I return home with a clearer voice, a stronger sense of purpose, and the confidence that I can lead and create something important in international spaces.

Thank you, Estonia, and thank you to all organizations, who assisted making this chapter so transformative”.
