Giorgi Beruashvili is a Georgian volunteer who will join Centrul Educaţional de Resurse şi Training in Craiova, Romania and participate in a long-term European Solidarity Corps project funded by Erasmus +. Read what he says about his upcoming experience:
“My name is Giorgi. I have a master’s degree in management and business administration. I always wanted to be a volunteer and have this great experience. This year a chance appeared to go to Craiova, Romania, so I decided not to miss this great opportunity. I think that volunteering is an extremely important and life-changing experience that expands your skills of determination, responsibility, and boosts your energy as you work for others. I am sure this experience will help me to have a new insight, learn new things about myself, for example, how I can manage to communicate with people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds offering them support; how I can adapt to new situations and share knowledge and experiences with others.
What is more, volunteering is something I see as an opportunity to advance in my career as I will have new experiences about managing different tasks and people, operating in different cultural, social, and economic environments. It is also an opportunity to have new experiences, make new connections, and work with different people, to acquire practical knowledge and skills that will help me better understand my passions.
Another great benefit of the program is that, during this voluntary service, I will meet new people from different countries and make new friends from other parts of the world, so this experience will stimulate my personal insight and growth. I am determined to support activities that will help young people raise their confidence, improve their skills in different areas, and support them to have a great life in the future. Volunteering is a unique chance to help and empower others. I am ready to be fully involved in youth work and support young people in Craiova and let them discover their passions, develop their full potential, and have fulfilling lives.
I believe it is important to prove yourself that you can work for others’ personal growth as for yourself, for a charitable cause. It is perhaps the most satisfying experience to act for others rather than for yourself. It is important for youngsters to learn how to be charitable and compassionate towards each other and the environment. It is important for youth to comprehend that perhaps the greatest success in life and to provide success for others, to contribute to the change for a better society as I believe that the younger generation will change the world for better.” – Giorgi Beruashvili.
