“Volunteering is a great act of kindness” • Mariam Zabakhidze

Mariam Zabakhidze is a Georgian volunteer who will join ASOCIATIA CENTRUL REGIONAL DE ECONOMIE SOCIALA in Craiova, Romania and participate in a long-term European Solidarity Corps project funded by Erasmus +. Read what she says about her upcoming experience:

“My name is Mariam. Currently, I am doing my fourth year at the faculty of business administration/ management. I have always had this perception of wanting to make this world a better environment or at least a positive impact on people. To pursue this goal of mine, I decided not to miss this great opportunity and became a volunteer.

Volunteering is a great act of kindness. Helping others without expecting anything, caring, loving, and sharing our time, heart, and soul, this is pure joy. Not only does volunteering help others, but what others may not know is that it can be helpful to themselves. I think it is a great way to gain hands-on experience in the real world. I’m sure this experience will help me develop new skills, discover new passions, and gaining new insights about myself.

One of the great benefits of this program is that I can work with young people. I can help them improve their skills, raise their confidence, and find their interests, which would bring them happiness in the future. Knowing that I can make an impact on a child’s life due to my positivity is the best feeling in the whole world. Also, I love traveling and learning about new cultures, traditions. So, it’s an amazing opportunity for me to learn about Romania’s rich and diverse cultural heritage. This program allows me to meet new people from different countries and make new friends. I believe these 6 months will be unforgettable and life-changing.

Volunteering has always been a part of my life in some form or another. I love it… helping someone who needs it. I think volunteering is a “heart” job and I am ready with all my heart to embark on those unforgettable adventures” – Mariam Zabakhidze.
